Why do I care about social media?
Social media is your networking family, how you'll get the word out about new products, services, or this and that. It's important.
Whether you're in business right now or thinking of starting out one, another thing everyone seems to be concerned about (other than a business plan) - is social media. But before you jump in, it's important to know what you're getting yourself into.
Not everyone, though knows which social media is the right fit for them and their business. You might have a Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat. And have no idea how to manage it.
How will you create new content for each one, and when? How will your audience see the post? Or is the information compelling enough for them to share?
If you're a small business, it's a good idea to start with one or two. That way you'll get an idea of how much you'll devote to it. Also, it's great to understand the backbone of it - especially when you're ready to outsource.
Recognize your audience & learn how to navigate
For one thing, market research of who your target audience is ..well, important. This will narrow your advertisement campaigns, research, outreach, whatever the case may be -- because you know, hey, my audience is predominately going to be men in their 30s.
Finding out the data of which platform fits your parameters might help you out.
Who uses social media
This is a great start for someone who might not know which to choose. Facebook over Instagram (though, they're from the same parent company) or LinkedIn over Snapchat.
Integration. I love blogs a.k.a 'resource center'
Though I do not like using the word, "expert." I think a blog can help expand a business outreach through your knowledge and information.
It's one thing to just take - take- take. Where the business is asking people to buy their service or product, but sometimes ask yourself this question: what's in it for the customer?
I think you'll add value and credibility to your business by offering useful and unique information.
If you're a coffee shop
What I love about blogs/resource centers is that if offers the client or potential client to stay in your store.
Often times, I find small businesses or big ones, too, share a cool article but link it to a different company's webpage. You're essentially redirecting them away from you.

Keeping the customer engaged on a blog makes them feel like they're learning something useful or new. When they want to get more information, make sure there is an easy to read "call-to-action."
This mean, a "contact page" or "request a free demo" or "sign up to our newsletter" usually will do it too.
I know that's a lot of information to digest, but it's great that you're taking the time to learn. Not everything is a one-sized-fits-all strategy.
